The Princess of Wales cut a really fashionable figure as she visited the brand-new V&A East Storehouse in London yesterday - however one aspect of her attire appeared to break the gown code.
Kate, 43, stepped out for her first engagement of the month - and her first since returning from the half-term break - in a stylish trouser suit by designer Alexander McQueen for the occasion, together with a white scoop-neck top.
For her accessories, the princess selected an elegant belt, Laura Lombardi chain pendant, and a set of sleek black heels from Prada.
But while Kate looked exceptionally classy, technically speaking, she did break a little-known style rule during her see with her choice of shoes.
'We suggest using useful clothes and flat shoes,' the V&A East Storehouse's website checks out. 'The metal grid flooring is not suitable for stilettos or kitty heels.'
However, the princess appeared entirely at ease and masterfully handled the unequal floorings, even while using a pair of challenging heels.
When asked about Kate's choice of footwear, Tristram Hunt, the director of the V&A, informed PEOPLE magazine: 'She is a pro! She handled that!'
He included: 'She had a very energy. She was really energetic and focused. We last saw her about two years earlier.

'She maintains this excellent passion and interest in creativity and making and style. It was wonderful to be able to host her.'
The mother-of-three has repeatedly made using heels look simple over the years - even while playing sports, using pumps on yard and attending horse racing events such as Royal Ascot.
In 2012, Kate even used heels to play a video game of hockey and, more just recently in 2022, kicked a football in heels throughout an engagement with her husband Prince William.
She even wore her precious shoe in her very first images with Prince Louis in 2018 as she stepped outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital.
Depsite misgivings, the princess was such a 'pro' in her heels that she had the ability to handle any challenges with ease
